I just watched Michael Ninn's In The Garden of Shadows in order to review it.
I was so disappointed. I thought it would be a good movie for women but the sex in it was just so formulaic and so passionless. It's nice to see a film made with artistic flair, but that's all it had going for it. I wrote in my review that it was like going to the trendiest, flashiest restaurant in town and being served a Big Mac.
I've posted some of the notes I made while watching it on my blog:
www.msnaughty.com/blog/data/118.html
Examples:
"Hmm, I can see the scars around her nipples."
"What is it with guys who decide that cunnilingus involves pretending the tongue is a dick? Lick her CLIT you idiot!!!"
"You know, I’m not sure that bending over for anal sex while balancing on one leg in high heels is the optimal position for pleasure."
"His pink condom is coming off… Pink condom??"

Re: In The Garden Of Shadows
Mon, May 23, 2005 - 4:11 PMI agree! So much potential for great porn -- the visuals were often stunning, and it really seemed like it was a moneyed venture. But the editing of the sex scenees were so frustrating, very "artsy" choppy, and gawd, the sex was SO formula and boring, ugh! Why bother making porn at all if you're just making the same thing in a different wrapper?
